- In order to set up Multifactor Authentication you will need to login to the dashboard at https://dashboard.ddouglas.k12.or.us/ then click on your profile icon on the top right corner > security.
- You will then be presented with some options for adding an additional form of authentication (HelloID App, Email, Hardware Token). We recommend the use of the HelloID app.
Using the HelloID App as your second factor:
3. You will need to search, download and install the “HelloID authenticator” app from your smartphone’s app store. Please see the screenshots below of what it looks like in the Apple app store and in the Google Play store.
Here is what the app looks like in the Apple app store

If you are presented with a prompt to allow notifications from the HelloID app, click allow. Otherwise, you may not receive the prompt on your phone to click on ‘yes’ when logging into the dashboard. Note that you can still provide the six digits by typing them in if the prompt is not working.
4. Once you have installed the app, go ahead and click ADD next to the Authenticator option in the dashboard as seen below.
5. You will be presented with a QR code to scan. Open the HelloID Authenticator app on your smartphone that you just installed and click the "+" button to scan the QR code on your screen with your phone. When you scan your QR code you will get the message "factor enrolled successfully"
Scan the QR code that was presented to you in the dashboard, not the one in these directions.
At this point, you can enroll in the other MFA options like personal email or a hardware token but it is not necessary. You are done.
Here are some video tutorials on what it looks like once you have it working.

Using email as your second factor:
If you want to enroll in the other options like email, keep following these directions. We recommend registering a personal email address just in case you don’t have access to your smartphone. This will allow you to receive your MFA code via email if you don’t have access to your smartphone.
To register your personal email address for MFA click on ADD next to Email on the dashboard security page (Step 3)
This will take you to a screen that will have your district email address prepopulated. Do not use your district email address here. Delete that and use your personal email address and click “Send Code”
You should now have an email from noreply@helloid.com with your code to register. Check your spam folder if you don’t see it in your inbox.
Enter the code that was emailed to your personal email address and you will get a message that you enrolled successfully.
Setting your default second factor option:
To set your default MFA option go back to the dashboard security page.
The star indicates your default method of MFA. You can change this by clicking the star icon on the method you want the default to be. You may also add/delete or modify all your MFA options on this screen.
